The Sheehan Panic Disorder Scale (SPS) assesses all of the core symptoms of Panic Disorder. It can be used to assess and monitor these symptoms and behaviors over time. It can be either patient-rated or clinician-rated. It has 35 questions to assess a spectrum of symptoms and behaviors associated with Panic Disorder. It is designed for use in clinical research studies and in clinical settings as a baseline and as a treatment outcome measure. It is very sensitive to change and to treatment effects in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies.
This scale was previously named as either the Sheehan Clinician Rated Anxiety Scale (SCRAS) or the Sheehan Patient Rated Anxiety Scale (SPRAS). The SPS, the SCRAS, and the SPRAS are identical in all but name.
